Free, and none of it ours to sell

Free clinical tools and patient handouts.

Interaction checkers, dose calculators, taper planners, practice policy templates, billing checklists, and printable handouts you can hand a patient today. About 140 of them, all free, no account and no email.

We don't host any of this. Every entry links to the site that publishes it, so you always know whose work you're using. Here's why we index them.

Before you write the prescription

Thirteen interactive calculators, sourced to FDA labeling and published guidelines, that run in your browser and store nothing. These are the ones worth a bookmark in your browser bar.

Why this page exists

We index them. We don't sell them.

These tools are excellent and almost nobody knows they're there. A psychiatrist looking for a QT checker doesn't think to visit a site called PsychiatryRx, and nobody guesses that practice policy templates live on one called shrinkiatry. HandshakeMD is the property in this network whose whole audience is clinicians, so it's the sensible place to put the index.

Every entry above links out to the site that publishes it. We don't rehost a single PDF or rebuild a single calculator, so you always know whose work you're using and you get whatever fixes and updates they publish.

All of it is published across The Shrink Network, a group of independent mental health properties founded and medically reviewed by Shariq Refai, MD, MBA, a board certified psychiatrist. He also founded shrinkMD, and that's disclosed on our disclosures page along with everything else about who owns what here.

Nothing here is medical or legal advice. The practice templates are educational examples, and anything you adopt should be reviewed by your own counsel.

Common questions

Is all of this really free?

Yes. Free to use, free to download, no account and no email. None of it is sold and we earn nothing when you use any of it. That's the same commitment that covers the directory itself, which you can read in full on what we will never do.

Do I need a HandshakeMD listing to use them?

No. Everything above is open to anyone. A free listing only matters if you want to appear in the directory so other clinicians can refer to you.

Can I print these for my waiting room or hand them to patients?

They're published as free printables for exactly that, but each site sets its own terms, so check the page you download from if you plan to reproduce something at scale or put it in your own materials.

Are the clinical calculators safe to rely on?

They're decision support, not decisions. Each one cites its source, whether that's FDA labeling, the AGS Beers Criteria, ADA and APA monitoring guidance, or published taper frameworks. Check the primary source before acting on anything that matters, the same as you would with any reference.

Something is broken or out of date. Who do I tell?

Tell the site that publishes it, since they can actually fix it. If a link from this page is dead, tell us at [email protected] and we'll correct it.

While you're here.

The directory is the other half of this. Free listing, about eight minutes, and it's how other clinicians find out you're taking patients.

Where HandshakeMD fits

The Shrink Network gives each need its own place. HandshakeMD is the clinician layer. If you are after a tool rather than a clinician, the resource index points at all of it.
