Standards
What "verified" means here.
Badges on health directories are usually vague on purpose. Ours are defined, narrow, and checkable, and this page says what each one does not mean.

What we do not verify
Licensure. There is no single national license database. Licensing is administered by more than fifty separate boards with different systems, and many have no public API at all. We do not claim to have verified a license, and you will never see a "license verified" badge on this site.
Board certification. We do not check it and we do not display it as verified. If a clinician lists a certification, treat it as their own statement.
Clinical quality. We make no assessment of it, we collect no reviews, and no badge on this site should be read as an endorsement or a recommendation.
Insurance participation. Panels change constantly and plans differ by product. Confirm coverage with the practice and with your plan before the visit.
Verify licensure and credentials directly with the clinician and the relevant state board before making a referral or booking care. Every listing links to the board lookup for the states that clinician practices in.
Removing or correcting a listing
Any clinician can correct or remove their own listing at any time, for any reason, without telling us why. If you believe a listing misrepresents you or somebody else, write to us and we will take it down while we look into it rather than after.
Unclaimed listings built from the public NPI registry are kept out of search engines and out of our own search results until a clinician claims and confirms one.
